Description
Introducing our Premium Glass Balustrade with Handrail System, designed to meet the highest safety and quality standards.
Our kits are available as straight runs, in lengths of 1000mm, 1500mm, 2000mm, 2500mm and 3000mm. Measurements provided are centre of post to centre of post.
Our glass balustrade with handrail kits include all hardware and glass required for installation. Each kit arrives with the following:
- 10mm clear toughened glass with polished edges and minimal dubbed corners.
- Stainless steel handrail (42.4mm x 2mm).
- Pre-assembled stainless steel balustrade posts (42.4mm x 2mm) with handrail saddle, clamps and rubbers.
- Drill & tap bits and fixing screws to attach the handrail.
If you would like to add a corner section, this can be done at no extra cost. Simply contact us before or after placing your order and we will swap out a centre post for a corner post. If you have project specific requirements, such as the handrail needing to be connected to a wall, please contact us before placing your order.
Please note: Base plate fixing bolts are not supplied with your purchase as the type of fixing required is determined by your surface.
About our Post & Handrail System
Our glass balustrade with handrail system complies with BS 6180 ‘Barriers in and about buildings,' and has been load tested to 0.74 kN/m. Load testing is an important building regulation and safety requirement to consider when choosing a glass balustrade, particularly when the system is there to protect from a fall of over 600mm. You can download the test data and certification here.
The balustrade posts, handrail and components use 316 Grade stainless steel as standard. We use 316 grade stainless steel as it has a higher content of chromium and nickel, which makes it more resistant to rust and corrosion. Our 316 grade stainless steel components are made to survive the elements, suitable for both indoor and outside applications.
The 316 Grade Stainless Steel handrail uses Fast Fit, a cutting-edge system developed to make installation easier and more secure. The Fast-Fit rubber sleeve slides into the tube, aligning and securing the fitting until the glue cures. This ensures that the fitting remains firmly in place, without vibrating loose or misaligning.
To complete the system, our glass infill panels panels are designed with 10mm toughened clear glass with dubbed corners and polished edges as standard. Toughened glass is the industry standard for internal and external balustrades with a handrail. It's up to 4-5 times stronger than standard float glass and is designed to break in a way that maximises safety.
